PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection reducing near infrared absorbing material which suppresses transmittance in a near infrared region, keeps the transmittance in a visible light region high and suppresses the reflection of light while holding durability against light or moist heat to enhance visibility, and an electronic image display device using it. SOLUTION: The reflection reducing near infrared absorbing material 10 is constituted by providing a near infrared absorbing layer 12, which contains a mixed resin of a polystyrene resin or a polyolefinic resin and a resin other than it and a near infrared absorber, on one side of a transparent base material 11 and providing a reflection reducing layer on the other side of the transparent base material 11. The near infrared absorber is preferably a ditiol metal complex coloring matter represented by the chemical formula (1) (wherein a center metal M is nickel, platinum, palladium, copper or molybdenum, and n is 1 or 2).
