PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce artifacts caused by multiple reflections in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: Reception signals from a main vibrator 12 are amplified in a received wave amplifier circuit 44, and the amplified signals are further inverted and amplified in an inverting amplifier 50. On the basis of the signals, in a high pressure waveform preparation circuit 52, driving signals for driving a vibrator 13 for cancellation are prepared. Retransmitted waves reflected on the surface of the main vibrator 12 and headed to the inside of a living body again are canceled by cancellation transmission waves sent out from the vibrator 13 for cancellation and the multiple reflections are prevented.
