The device has a heat transferring part (17) with a longitudinal axis (X) and a helical part (18) mounted to rotate around the axis in a tubular envelope (13). Radiant heating parts (60) overhang the helical part and are arranged in the form of cassettes equipped with infrared or ultraviolet radiation sources. The radiant heating parts emit a radiation in the direction of a free surface of divided solid mass that is spread in the envelope while being simultaneously mixed and heated by the helical part.
