The device has an air supply inlet valve (3) mounted in translation in an air intake manifold (2) along a direction parallel to a flow direction of gas in the manifold. The valve is present in the form of a roller (15) having a large diameter central part (16) extending transversal to the displacement direction of the valve. The central part presents an arched outer peripheral part (17) contacting with a valve seat (18) defined by a throat (19) of the manifold.
