Oligomerisation catalysts are made by a process comprising:-(a) depositing a Co compound, capable of yielding Co metal or oxide on heating under the preparative conditions prevailing, on activated carbon to form a Co/C complex, (b) oxidising the Co/C complex with molecular oxygen at 100-500‹C and (c) actuating the oxidised Co/C complex by heating it in an inert atmosphere at 150-550‹C. Inert atmosphere includes nitrogen, helium, argon and vacuum. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,090,987. |
