<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device hardly receiving the influence of any noise in communication using a multi-value QAM system, and easily realizing frame synchronization. <P>SOLUTION: A frame synchronization method is provided for obtaining synchronization by using a pilot symbol in a signal frame in a communication system using a multi-value QAM system, wherein two or more pilot symbols are assigned in the signal frame, each pilot symbol is constituted of two or more types of symbols which have the maximum amplitude value and phases different on an I-Q plane, and the pilot symbol positions are detected by using an inner product arithmetic result between respective pilot symbols. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
