<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath for firing capable of finely controlling atmospheric gas for firing within a sheath body. <P>SOLUTION: The sheath for firing 1 comprises a body 3 for containing a plurality of ceramic electronic components therein, and a gas supplying tube 5 for introducing the atmospheric gas for firing into the sheath body 3. The sheath body 3 has two mutually facing side walls 8, and a plurality of groove parts 9 are formed on the upper end of each side wall 8 for positioning and supporting both ends of an alignment rod 7 suspending each ceramic electronic component and for positioning and supporting both ends of the gas supplying tube 5. An aperture of one end of the gas supplying tube 5 is a gas stream inlet for taking in the atmospheric gas for firing.
