PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system, capable of detecting a position of the second communications device, a position detection method for the position detection system, a position detection communications device, and a communications device. SOLUTION: In this position detection system for detecting the position of the second communications device, based on a plurality of distances between a plurality of the first communications devices and the second communications device, each of the plurality of first communications devices is provided with the first transmission part for transmitting a distance calculating signal for calculating the distance with respect to the second communications device; a detection part for detecting the phase difference between the distance calculating signal when transmitted by reception of a signal in response to the distance calculating signal, and a signal in response to the distance calculating signal when received; and a calculation part for calculating the distance with respect to the second communications device, based on the phase difference, and the second communications device has a position detecting part provided with the second transmission part for transmitting a signal in response to the distance calculating signal, and for detecting the position of the second communications device, based on the plurality of distances calculated in a plurality of calculation parts.
