摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel arrangement method of imaging elements which can the image quality improved. SOLUTION: The imaging device has the primary color filters of red, green and blue, and the filters are arranged in the Bayer system. The element has a thinning operation mode for thinning the pixels of a vertical direction, and reading the pixels in addition to a mode for reading all the pixels and has pixels read at only the thinning operation mode. The thinning operation mode is a mode, in which a pixel obtained compositing one read pixel with some unread pixels, is considered as a single pixel, and electrical signals are read for composite pixels read in the thinning operation mode, with a timing in which the number of pixels to be composited of composite pixels to be read at odd-numbered position differs from that of composite pixels to be read at even-numbered position.
