MAGNETIC TRANSFER METHOD, MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM, AND MAGNETIC RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the accurate transfer of a magnetic pattern by regulating a permissible range of the application direction of a magnetic field for transfer when magnetic transfer is performed. SOLUTION: This magnetic transfer method includes: a step for applying a magnetic field in the circumferential direction of a disk to which the magnetic pattern is transferred (transfer disk) to initially DC-magnetize the transfer disk in the circumferential direction; a step for closely sticking the initially DC-magnetized transfer disk and a master disk having the magnetic pattern to each other; and a step for performing magnetic transfer so that the magnetic field intensity of the magnetic field in the circumferential direction vertical to the disk surface is 0.40 times as high as the magnetic field intensity thereof parallel to the disk surface or less when a magnetic field generating means is provided and a magnetic field is added to the transfer disk and the master disk in the circumferential direction while the transfer disk and the master disk in a closely stuck state are moved relatively to the magnetic field generating means to transfer the magnetic pattern of the master disk to the transfer disk.
