PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate design data of an article by deforming existent design data. SOLUTION: A design data generation system 1 uses design data that a design data acquisition portion 3 acquires and a deformation indication acquisition portion 4 acquires as a deformation indication a deformed surface specification of a deformed surface, a deformation indication for the deformed surface, and a deformation follow-up surface specification of a follow-up deformed surface to be deformed following up the deformed surface. A follow-up deformed surface relative relation deriving means 22 finds the relative relation of the follow-up deformed surface to the deformed surface. A deformed surface deforming means 24 deforms the deformed surface based upon the surface deformation indication and a follow-up deforming means 24 performs follow-up deformation into a shape keeping the relative relation to the deformed surface after the deformation. Thus, the follow-up deformed surface is automatically deformed following up the deformed surface, so useful design data wherein the thickness before the deformation is held can efficiently be obtained.
