PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply opening assisting force when opening a door, without applying the opening assisting force in a door-closed state, in a door opening assisting device. SOLUTION: A body 1 is provided with a rotatable lever 6 and a retractable member 11 capable of advancing and retreating. This retractable member 11 is energized toward an advancing position by a compression spring 12. When a tip part 7 of the lever 6 abuts on a door frame 3, the lever 6 rotates, and the retractable member 11 moves to a retreat position, and is held by a holding means. Restoring force is stored in the compression spring 12 as self-opening force, and the retractable member 11 is energized toward the advancing position, but does not move due to being held by the holding means.
