A rotatable tower-crane has a tower comprising two parts 7, 8 hinged about a horizontal axis 15 and is erected by a winch 14 and a cable which swing the foot of the tower downwards about a pivot 8. As this movement proceeds the upper part 8 of the tower is raised to a vertical position by a link 22 pivoted to the tower at 23 and to the base of the crane at 21. A cable 26 connecting a hinged stay 27 and cables 28, 29 to the base of the crane pulls the jib 11, 12 into a horizontal position as the tower becomes fully erect. The jib has a vertical hinge 16 and outriggers 3 are provided. |
