In a first step, a transmitter, e.g. an access point (AP) sends a message to a relaying station (REP), and in a second step the message is transferred temporally parallel by the transmitter and the relay station to the receiver, such as a mobile terminal (MT). Prior to the first step the transmitter receives a second message (PILOT) directly from the receiver and indirectly via the relaying station. A channel estimation is then performed, using the doubly-received second message, and the transmitter applies signal processing to the message based on the result of the channel estimation before it is transmitted in the first step. An independent claim is included for a transmitter.
