A printed circuit board (100) exit arrangement is disclosed for use in high speed connector mounting applications. A ground plane (104) has one or more open areas (105) formed in it that surround pairs of signal vias (102) formed in the board (100) that are used to convey differential signals. The ground plane (104) has a thin interconnecting strip (107), or web, that passes between the two vias (102) of each pair and which divides the open areas (105) into sub-areas (105a, 105b), each sib-area containing a single via.
