<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sealing mechanism with leaf seals in a plurality of stages for reducing a difference in pressure which the final stage leaf seal bears without further increasing the number of stages in which the leaf seals are installed. <P>SOLUTION: On a stator 60, the first stage leaf seal 120, the second stage leaf seal 220 and the third stage leaf seal 320 in the final stage are installed along the axial direction of a rotating shaft 4 in sequence from a high pressure side region to a low pressure side region. A slight gap h<SB>1</SB>between both thin plates 121 of the first leaf seal 120, a slight gap h<SB>2</SB>between both thin plates 221 of the second leaf seal 220 and a slight gap h<SB>3</SB>between both thin plates 321 of the third leaf seal 320 are set larger in this order. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
