<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed rubber member environmentally friendly, stable from a viewpoint of quality, such as durability, capable of being used for office automation equipment, and capable of being given at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This foamed rubber member is produced by preparing a rubber composition which contains a water-absorbing rubber containing ethylene oxide units and does not contain a chemical foaming agent, then vulcanizing the rubber composition under normal pressure, without applying pressure to the composition, and vaporizing moisture contained in the rubber composition, so that foam is formed. The water-absorbing rubber has a water content of not less than 0.1 pt. by mass and not more than 1.0 pt. by mass, before vulcanization, and subjected to the vulcanization under the normal pressure with microwave vulcanization (UHF) and/or hot air vulcanization (VAF). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
