<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether a communication party of content data is located on a LAN or located over a WAN. <P>SOLUTION: In a step S13, the difference between a received counter value of a packet for check and the value of a register is operated. In a step S14, it is judged whether or not the operated difference is equal with a fixed value X and if judged equal, the counter value of the packet is recorded in the register in a step S15. In a step S16, it is judged whether or not the packets for check of a predetermined number are received and if judged received, LAN connection is judged in a step S17. If it is judged in the step S14 that the operated difference is not equal with the fixed value X, WAN connection is judged in a step S18.
