PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner capable of reducing vibration and noise by inhibiting the propagation of vibration by a fluid excitation force imposed by the rotation of propeller fans. SOLUTION: This outdoor unit for the air conditioner comprising the propeller fans 105 mounted in a discharge opening of a shroud 103 and rotated by a motor 107, and a heat exchanger 108 mounted on the back side face of a housing between the shroud 103 and a bottom base 102, sucking air from the back side face by the rotation of the propeller fans 105, and discharging the air from the discharge opening through the heat exchanger 108, comprises the propeller fans 105 of N-sheets of vanes stored in the shroud and mounted at an upper portion of the heat exchanger 108, and the shroud 103 cylindrically formed in a state of surrounding outer peripheral faces of the propeller fans 105 at specific intervals, and provided with at least (N+1) or (N-1) pieces of ribs in the circumferential direction.
