PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost by increasing production efficiency and enabling mass production in relation to a valve for an internal combustion engine and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Metal sodium 14, 15 is filled in hollow parts of a pair of valve stem members 12, 13 having one end part open in a funnel shape. Each funnel part 12c, 13c of the valve stem members 12, 13 is made press contact on a flat surface part of a valve head member 11 in a disk shape. Two valves 21, 22 for the internal combustion engine are simultaneously manufactured by cutting the valve head member 11 at a roughly center position after joining the valve head member 11 and the valve stem members 12, 13 by friction welding by rotating each valve stem member 12, 13 relatively to the valve head member 11 under the press contact condition.
