PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cemented carbide member which is improved in strength and also reduced in surface roughness, and which can extend the service life of a tool member remarkably when being used therefor. SOLUTION: In the cemented carbide member, the residual compressive stress in the surface is≥1,000 MPa, and, the cemented carbide member has a surface region in which the maximum height Ry is≤0.4μm in evaluation on surface roughness based on JIS-B0601, and has a reduced surface roughness.
