PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel coating film remover that can be used in removing a coating film of not only a solvent type coating material but also an aqueous coating material or a non-solvent type coating material although it is soluble in water and does not take moisture retention into consideration. SOLUTION: The coating film remover is produced by blending 40-90 wt% emulsion of a zirconium oxide, 7-20 wt% liquid paraffin, 2.5-8 wt% emulsion of a polyvinyl acetate resin and 2-7.5 wt% water.
