PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip clamping device preventing reduction in the service life of a pressing metal due to abrasion of tips and realizing stable tip clamping. SOLUTION: In the tip clamping device 50 provided with the pressing metal 51 pressing and fixing a tip 30 fitted in the body 20 of the cutting tool, a tip guiding face 51c directed to the cutting edge side of the tip 30 and a pressing face 51b crossing this tip guiding face 51c and pressing the upper face 30a of the tip are structured in the front end part of the pressing metal 51. Moreover, a hard member 51B made of cemented carbide and the like is provided, and the pressing face 51b and a supporting face 51d provided in the lower face of the rear end part of the pressing metal 51 while being contacted with the upper face 20a of the body are formed in a flat surface nearly in parallel with each other. Furthermore, the level difference H1 between the pressing face 51b and the supporting face 51d and the level difference H2 between the tip upper face 30a and the body upper face 20a are made to have a relation of H2-0.3mm≤H1≤H2+0.3mm.
