<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a fiber aggregate, and to provide a method for using the fiber aggregate in a fiber-reinforced composite material. <P>SOLUTION: This fiber aggregate bonded with a polymer and comprising the staple fibers of a material selected from carbon, ceramic substances, glass, metals and organic polymers, and a polymer adhesive resin selected from synthetic resins and thermoplastic plastics is characterized in that the average length of the fiber aggregate is 3 to 50 mm measured in the direction of the fibers; the average thickness is 0.1 to 10 mm measured in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the fibers; and at least 75% of all of the contained fibers have a length of 90 to 110% based on the average length of the fiber aggregate.
