<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape and a fireproof cable capable of restraining manufacturing cost or the like through reduction of mica without ensuing deterioration of electric characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A conductor; a tape 10 formed of a first and a second tape layers, coated on a peripheral face of the conductor as a fire protection layer; an insulating layer coated on a peripheral face of the tape 10; and a sheath coated on a peripheral face of the insulating layer are provided. The first tape layer forming the tape 10 is to be of a glass tape 11 excellent in tensile force, dimensional stability, electric insulation, nonflammability, and chemical properties, and at the same time, the second tape layer is to be of a silicone tape 12 excellent in heat resistance, electric characteristics, and adhesiveness. Since the glass tape 11 and the silicone tape 12 abundant in raw materials are used, manufacturing cost can be reduced by omitting the use of mica.
