<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability on the entire system by securing safety even if there is an error in an estimated rotational position, when estimating and controlling the rotational position of a motor without using a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: When it already has acquired the information about the angle θ of a crank normally, it checks whether the difference ¾θ-ϕ¾ between the crank angle θ by a crank sensor received from an engine ECU and the estimated rotational position ϕ of the rotor of the motor is over a threshold A or not (S2). When ¾θ-ϕ¾>A, it computes the converted rotational position θ' where the delay of a communication time between the engine ECU and a motor ECU is taken into consideration, from the crank angle θ(S4). Then, it substitutes the converted rotational position θ' for the estimated rotational position ϕ of the rotor in rotation sensorless control so as to prevent the failure of rotation sensorless control (S5).
