摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability on the entire system by securing safety even if there is an error in an estimated rotational position, when estimating and controlling the rotational position of a motor without using a sensor. <P>SOLUTION: When it already has acquired the information about the angle &theta; of a crank normally, it checks whether the difference ¾&theta;-&phiv;¾ between the crank angle &theta; by a crank sensor received from an engine ECU and the estimated rotational position &phiv; of the rotor of the motor is over a threshold A or not (S2). When ¾&theta;-&phiv;¾>A, it computes the converted rotational position &theta;' where the delay of a communication time between the engine ECU and a motor ECU is taken into consideration, from the crank angle &theta;(S4). Then, it substitutes the converted rotational position &theta;' for the estimated rotational position &phiv; of the rotor in rotation sensorless control so as to prevent the failure of rotation sensorless control (S5).
