PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a starch type aqueous adhesive which is low in viscosity, excellent in storage stability and can give strong adhesive force by heating for a short time. SOLUTION: The method for producing a starch type aqueous adhesive comprises adding substantially non-decomposed corn starch in an amount of 0.5-10 wt% relative to the total amount of starch, a potato starch powder, a sweet potato starch powder and other non-pasted starch powder to a rosin ester aqueous dispersion, pasting the non-pasted starch powder at 50-100°C, and further adding thereto substantially non-decomposed non-pasted starch powder.
