PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector in which cost of a member for holding/fixing an optical fiber of a type using a ferrule can be reduced. SOLUTION: The optical connector 1 is composed of a ferrule for supporting the optical fiber, a pressing member 4 for holding/fixing the optical fiber supported on the ferrule, a pressurizing means 5 for energizing the pressing member 4 in a manner fixedly working on the optical fiber 2, a contact energizing means 6 for pressing to energize the ferrule 3 in a connecting direction along the axial center of the optical fiber, and a connector housing 7 for storing these.
