A lamp (not shown) for illuminating a vehicle dashboard 1 is fitted in a socket 4 mounted on the dashboard and may be surrounded by a detachable opaque open-ended sleeve 6 which cuts out all but the rays travelling in directions generally perpendicular to the dashboard. The sleeve fits slidably over a translucent cap 5 which is a force fit on a tubular locking member 3 adapted to secure the socket to the dashboard. The locking member engages between an outwardly deformed end of the socket and a resilient seal 2. |
