<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, etc., which correct a potential difference between a sensor position and a developing part position, thereby correctly estimate a developing part potential, and thus perform image formation ensuring excellent color reproducibility, in a high speed color image forming apparatus that measures the surface potential of a photoreceptor by a potential sensor and exerts process control by the use of the sensor value. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a temperature sensor for measuring the atmosphere temperature of the photoreceptor, and a potential sensor for measuring the surface potential of the photoreceptor between exposure and development. The image forming apparatus adjusts at least an electrifying means, an exposure means, or a developing means based upon the data of the potential sensor. In the image forming apparatus, time needed between the exposure and the development is not longer than 120 ms. The potential sensor is disposed in the position corresponding to 1/2 of time needed between the exposure and the development. When the developing part potential is estimated based upon data from the potential sensor, the developing part potential is calculated based on prestored relations between the potential of the potential-sensor position, the potential of the developing-part position, and the photoreceptor atmosphere temperature as well as the data of the temperature sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
