METHOD FOR SORTING AND SEPARATING PCB-CONTAINING ELECTRICAL DEVICES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating method permitting effective sorting of copper and paper produced in crushing mixture members or copper and wood produced in crushing organic material members with a same multi-stage crusher and a same specific gravity difference sorting machine by changing their operating conditions. SOLUTION: The method for sorting and separating PCB (perchlorobiphenyls)-containing electrical devices has a classifying process of dismantling PCB-containing electrical devices to classify into mixture members containing both inorganic and organic matter and organic material members containing only organic matter, a crushing process of crushing the mixture and the organic material members to fragments of desired sizes, alternately with the same multi-stage crusher, and a separating process of sorting the fragments obtained in the crushing process with the same specific gravity difference sorting machine to separating into inorganic matter and organic matter.
