PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of equalization with estimation accuracy higher than the estimation of transmission path characteristics by linear interpolation without remarkably increasing the capacity of a memory, and to provide its equalization method. SOLUTION: Time deinterleave is performed prior to frequency deinterleave. Even if an order is changed, decoding can be performed without accompanying any trouble. Therefore, a memory for time deinterleave can be utilized as the delay circuit of an information transmission signal. Only the memory for storing an SP signal required for time axis interpolation and the transmission path characteristic after time axis interpolation is required as an additional memory required for time axis direction interpolation.
