PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulation applying method, hardly degraded in heat insulating performance. SOLUTION: The method of applying heat insulation to a tank comprises fixing a plurality of heat insulating panels to the surface of the tank, filling joint filler into a joint between the adjacent heat insulating panels, and adhering a moisture preventing tape 4 over the outer face side of the joint filler and the outer face sides of the heat insulating panels on both sides of the joint filler. The used moisture preventing tape is such that a metal sheet 13 and a meshed reinforcing sheet 14 are layered so that the metal sheet enters into a mesh 15 of the reinforcing sheet and an adhesive layer 17 is integrally provided on the side of the metal sheet. The adhesive layer is adhered over the outer face side of the joint filler and the outer face sides of the heat insulating panels on both sides of the joint filler. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
