<p>A method for handling Short Messages in a telecommunications network supporting number portability at a serving node (33, 43, 53), comprising the steps of receiving (615) a short message for a receiving entity (32, 42, 52) and fetching a subscriber mobile station number from the short message; interrogating (620) a number portability register (34, 44, 54) for receiving a charging-related identifier representative of the network to which the mobile station number is ported; forwarding (625) the identifier to a Service Control Function node (36, 46, 56) for charging the short message according to porting information carried by the identifier; and sending (635) the short message to the receiving entity (32, 42, 52).</p> |
