<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which can prevent penetration of oxygen or moisture, while having small thin. <P>SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes a substrate 300, a plurality of pixels 30, a planarizing film 320 and a passivation film 340. The substrate 300 has a recess 310, formed in the periphery of an active region. The pixel 30 is formed in the active region. The planarizing film 320 covers the pixel 30 on the substrate 300. The passivation film 340 covers the planarizing film 320 and the recess 310. Since the organic electroluminescent element includes the recess or a route extension part, the oxygen or the moisture cannot permeate the interior of the passivation film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
