摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film for a display having good optical characteristics by a melt casting method using a raw polymer of cellulose ester, to provide a manufacturing method by which such a high performance optical film for a display is manufactured without using a halogen-containing solvent with a high load on the environment, and to provide a polarizing plate using the optical film as a protective film and a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film for a display is formed from a cellulosic polymer, wherein the raw polymer is in the form of irregular particles having a particle diameter of 2-2,000 &mu;m and a bulk specific gravity of 0.1-0.8.
