PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens device and a camera system which are capable of obtaining high performance and high accuracy whether an interchangeable lens is attached to a digital camera system or a silver-salt camera system. SOLUTION: The lens device can be attached to the first camera (1a) using a film (18) and the second camera (1b) having an imaging element (17), both of which compute using information received from the lens device (2b). The lens device includes: a storage means (11) for storing information used to create first information corresponding to the first camera and second information corresponding to the second camera; and a control means (10) by which the first or second information corresponding to the camera to which the lens device is attached is transmitted to the camera.
