<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein reflected light of head lamps and tail lamps is utilized to confirm an obstacle in sides of the vehicle and road condition just under the vehicle when travelling backward at night or in a dark space and wherein accurate visual confirmation is difficult and a large burden is applied to a driver, in regard to a current lighting system provided in an automobile such as head lamps, auxiliary lamps, tail lamps and back-up lamps provided to light a place relatively far in front and rear of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In order to facilitate visual confirmation of an obstacle in sides of the vehicle and road condition just under the vehicle when travelling backward at night or in a dark space, a lighting system set to be turned on in the case wherein a shift lever of a transmission is put in a back position when the head lamps or the auxilairy lamps (small lamps) are turned on and set to be turned off when the described condition is not satisfied is provided in side surfaces of the vehicle. Since a large quantity of the light is not necessary for this lighting system for lighting a limited space near the vehicle, this lighting system can be easily miniaturized, and can be built in a part equipment body such as a rear view mirror. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
