PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device capable of optimizing power supply with good heat generation efficiency relating to a magnetic induction heat generation means regardless of recording material sizes. SOLUTION: The image heating device has a magnetic flux generation means 5, a heat generation member 1 which generates heat by the magnetic flux from the magnetic flux generation means, and magnetic flux adjustment means 20 and 21 which adjust the action magnetic flux on the heat generation member. The heat generation member has at least a metallic layer 1a in which the thickness of the metallic layer is below the skin depth.
