PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a single layer type photosensitive layer excellent in adhesion to a conductive substrate, strength and sensitivity and excellent also in filming preventing effect, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a hole transport compound having a fluorine-containing substituent within a molecule as a charge transport agent in the single layer type photosensitive layer. In the image forming apparatus 10, an electrostatic latent image formed by exposing the electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 while positively charging the same is developed to a toner image with a developing device 4 having a function of recovering toner remaining on a surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 after transferring the toner image onto a surface of a transfer member.
