PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for inspecting the inner pressure of cans, which system and method are applicable even to cans having variations in trunk diameter. SOLUTION: The system is used to inspect the internal pressure of cans wherein the content is sealed. The system comprises a can fixing means 2 which fixes a can 19 to a designated position, a measuring tool 3 which is supported to be capable of advancing to and retreating from the can 19 and can be pushed into the surface of the can 19, a can trunk resilience measuring section 16a which measures the resilience of the can trunk when the measuring tool 3 is pushed into the surface of the can 19, and a push extent measuring means 6 which measures the extent of a push by the measuring tool 3 into the surface of the can 19. The measuring tool 3 is pushed into the surface of the can 19 fixed at the designated position, and the inner pressure of the can 19 is inspected on the basis of the correlation between the resilience of the can trunk exerted at the point that the measuring tool 3 pushes in to reach a certain extent from the outer diameter of the can 19, which is a reference point, and the internal pressure of the can 19.
