PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of stock parts and manufacturing cost by meeting requirements for different purposes of a high load vehicle by means of the minimum number of replaceable shafts and lever parts. SOLUTION: This lever assembly 22 for a vehicle brake 10 is provided with an operation shaft provided with a lever hole, a lever to be engaged with the lever hole, and a retaining pin insertable to the assembly to retain the lever 52 in the lever hole. In the method for assembling the lever assembly to a vehicle brake housing, the operation shaft provided with the lever hole is assembled from a first opening into a brake housing part, the lever is inserted from a second hole in the brake housing into the lever hole, and the retaining pin is inserted into the assembly to retain the lever in the lever hole.
