PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an action pole structure for iontophoresis which is used in the iontophoresis to infiltrate an ionic medicine into a living body by utilizing electrophoresis. SOLUTION: The action pole structure 1 includes an electrode 4 to be an action pole, a medicine-containing section 5 to contain the ionic medicine and an ion-exchange membrane 6, wherein the membrane 6 has both anion convertible radicals and cation convertible radicals and has more those anion convertible radicals and cation convertible radicals than the other ion convertible radicals. An ion-exchange membrane 8 can further be included between a medicine-containing layer and the living body to selectively infiltrate the objective medicine into the living body on the biological interface 7. Preferably, the membrane 8 is the ion-exchange membrane to selectively infiltrate the ion having the same mark of the medicine ion. Also preferably, an electrode 4' to be a counter electrode, an electrolyte-containing section 9 to contain an ionic electrolyte and an ion-exchange membrane 10 are laminated in this sequence and the ion-exchange membrane is disposed on the biological interface.
