A portable terminal (200) has a terminal state detection section (400) for detecting both a first terminal state that is a state of the portable terminal before a change in its state and a second terminal state that is a state of the portable terminal after the change, a condition management table (402) for managing conditions at which power supply to an SD memory card (103) starts, a determination section (403) for determining, when the first terminal state and the second terminal state are detected by the terminal state detection section (400), whether a change in the states satisfies the conditions, and a power supply section (302) for starting, when it is determined by the determination section (403) that the change in the states satisfies the conditions, power supply to the SD memory card (103).
