METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREFERENCE BUILDING TO BE USED IN SERVICE DISCOVERY

A method for providing a user interface for enabling a user to define preferences which are to be used for the discovery of services from a service catalogue, said services being categorized according to an ontology assigning one or more attributes to the individual services, said method comprising: providing an ontology viewer for displaying said ontology as a graph, the nodes in said graph corresponding to attributes in said ontology, said ontology viewer allowing said user to navigate through said ontology; receiving a user input from said user when navigating through said ontology for selecting one or more nodes as preferences to thereby define attributes which are preferred attributes of the desired services to be discovered.
