<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-vibration device coping with vibration of an image forming apparatus, especially a large size one, and preventing movement or vibration of an image forming apparatus during transport, and also to provide an anti-vibration method. <P>SOLUTION: Locking members 2 are attached to the side faces of the main body 1 of the image forming apparatus at the four corners and parts of a bottom plate 4 which correspond to them. Each pair of locking members 2 are connected by an elastic member 3. The locking members 2 are disposed such that the elastic members 3 extend radially. It is preferable that the elastic member 3 be formed from a spiral spring. In the case where horizontal and vertical forces are exerted to the main body 1 of the image forming apparatus from the directions of its four sides, balanced restoring forces of the plurality of elastic members 3 radially stretched are produced.
