<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize improvement of work efficiency in a simple constitution by selecting the best warm up sequence under various printing conditions in a high speed printer or a copying machine in which fixing power is affected by restriction on maximum power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided with a heating means provided with a heater, a fixing means to fix transfer material on which a toner image is formed by heating and pressurizing two rollers and a temperature detecting means detecting the surface temperature of the heated rollers. Other than a first timing in which the rotation of the rollers are finished when the surface temperature of the rollers reaches a first temperature at which the fixing is possible at normal throughput, at least one temperature in which the surface temperature of the rollers are lower than in the first temperature is provided. When the timing of receiving a print instruction is faster than the first timing, paper feeding is started at a second timing in which the temperature which is lower than the first temperature is reached or immediately after receiving the print instruction and at the same time, paper spacing for feeding the second sheet or later is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
