<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive motor controller in which an inverter and a step up/down converter constituting the motor controller are prevented from being damaged and protected surely even if the number of revolutions of an AC three-phase motor is varied abruptly due to disturbance, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The motor controller 1 comprises a step up/down converter, an inverter, and a control circuit. The step up/down converter has a reactor. The control circuit comprises an inverter power regulation means 120, an inverter control means, and a step up/down converter control means 121. Start of magnetic saturation of the reactor is detected from variation in current flowing through the reactor, and the inverter power regulation means 120 regulates inverter power. Since generation of eddy current or overvoltage can be suppressed, the inverter and the step up/down converter can be protected without enhancing the current capacity or breakdown voltage of components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
