<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of abnormal wear of a seal lip part of an oil seal 9 without executing expansion of volume of a storage chamber 30 in a pump housing 7, elimination of abolition of a fuel passage 32 or the like. <P>SOLUTION: An orifice 34 is provided in a middle of the fuel passage 32 making communication between the oil seal 9 and the storage chamber 30 in the pump housing 7. Consequently, rising speed of fuel pressure transmitted to the lip seal part of the oil seal 9 from the storage chamber 30 can be dulled even if a pump drive shaft 2 rotates at high speed and fuel pressure in a variable volume space 31 of the storage chamber 30 rises. Consequently, sudden rise of pressure on acting surface of the seal lip part of the oil seal 9 can be prevented and occurrence of abnormal wear of a lip tip part of the seal lip part can be suppressed.
