IMAGING DEVICE AND IMAGING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and an imaging method which provide an omnifocal image with a small position shift without requiring a time from the start of imaging to the acquisition of the omnifocal image. SOLUTION: The device is provided with: an imaging portion 11 which picks up a plurality of images while varying a focal length; a moving speed detection portion 15 which detects the moving speed of the imaging portion 11; a shift quantity calculation portion 16 which calculates the quantity of a shift between the plurality of images based upon an integrated value of the moving speed; a focusing block detection portion 13 which detects a block including more high-frequency components for each of the plurality of images; and a block composition portion 17 which puts blocks detected by the focusing block detection portion 13 together based upon the shift quantity calculated by the shift quantity calculation portion 16 so that the position shift between the plurality of images is eliminated.
